Trip cancellation and interruption coverage

No one wants to cancel their trip, but sometimes it can't be avoided. Accidents, injuries, loss of employment, sickness, or even the death of a loved one are all things that might unexpectedly prevent travel.

Several of our plans offer cancellation coverage and trip interruption for a number of covered reasons. Customers who meet the requirements can also add optional upgrades to the Ultimate plan, including ‘cancel for any reason’, or ‘cancel for business reasons’ coverage.

Emergency medical services

Traveler safety and wellbeing is our priority. At Travelex, most of our plans offer coverage for emergency medical and dental expenses if a sickness or injury occurs on the trip.

Our travel assistance team offers 24/7 global assistance and can arrange emergency medical evacuation to a suitable hospital, help returning home if medically necessary, and repatriation.

Coverage on most Travelex plans is primary without deductibles in most states¹

Delay protection

Travel delays can upset plans, but they needn’t put a dent in the wallet. Our plans offer coverage for travel delay and baggage delay and can help reimburse travelers when unplanned expenses or additional costs occur.

Our Advantage and Ultimate plans offer trip cancellation and interruption as well as travel delay benefits.

Severe weather protection

Hurricanes, floods, and other adverse weather events can wreak havoc on travel plans – before departure or while on vacation.

Many of our plans can help protect your traveler’s investment in the event severe weather cancels or delays transportation or operator services.

Does your customer have a pre-existing medical condition?

The good news is they may be eligible for coverage if purchasing our Ultimate plan within 21 days of their first trip payment and insure their full trip cost. Other conditions apply, and more information is available in policy documents and on our website.
